406.
Fusee.
If a train
approaches an unattended fusee burning on or near its track, the train must
immediately be brought to a stop
consistent with good train
handling.
Stop
before passing the fusee when operating in accordance with Rule 518 (Movement at
Restricted Speed) or Rule
520
(Movement on
Non-Main
Track).
After stopping, the train must proceed at restricted speed until the head end is
1 mile beyond the
fusee.
If an
unattended burning fusee is beyond the first rail of an adjacent track, the
fusee does not apply to the track on
which
the
train is moving.
Fusees must not be used wastefully and in any case not placed
where they may cause fires.
